Corporations need a keen eye and well-trained staff when it comes to suspicious packages
Tim Williams spoke with Adriana Cohen on what the average person can do to protect their corporation and employees after suspicious packages were discovered mailed to government officials and other agencies.
“What we like to see in a holistic approach is that you monitor social media for threats against individual employees or threats against the company overall. Also, you monitor the nature of the types of emails that employees receiving. Are there threatening letters that are coming in for executives? Or are there some irate individuals out there that are having issues with a product, company, or the brand?” Tim also recommends training your mailroom personnel to recognize the characteristics of potentially suspicious packages such as excessive postage, stains on the box, and excessive taping.
