New technology is aiming to help reduce check-in times from minutes to seconds.

Conference goers know the routine all too well. Hustling from the hotel to get stuck in long lines at check-in. Facial recognition is aiming to change the amount of time that people spend in these lines down to seconds. While this technology should speed up the process, it still comes with privacy concerns.

Jason Porter, Vice President at Pinkerton, recently spoke with Convene about these privacy issues. “Overall, facial recognition technology is in its infancy,” said Jason. “It’s very, very young technology. As history has shown, any new technology is often subject to vulnerabilities.”
