Pinkerton, a global provider of comprehensive risk management services including security consulting and investigations, executive protection, employment screening, and protective intelligence, has opened a new location in Downtown Detroit. Pinkerton Vice President of the Central Region, USA, John Lawrence made the announcement.

The Detroit office is located at 407 East Fort St. inside the historic Globe Tobacco Building, which was built in 1888 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. In addition to housing several full-time employees, the 1,800 sq. ft. location will also serve as a regional hub for traveling Pinkerton executives who are in town for client business.

This is Pinkerton’s second location in Michigan, joining the corporate headquarters based in Ann Arbor. “In 2014, we recognized a strategic opportunity to relocate our headquarters to metro Detroit because of its great potential and the strong level of talent in the area,” said Pinkerton President Jack Zahran. “We look forward to expanding our footprint in Southeast Michigan with the opening of the Detroit office.”

Daniel Alabré will head the Detroit office. A retired Army Col. with 28 years of military experience, Alabré is responsible for general oversight of the day-to-day operational functions of the field office—including overseeing client development, market penetration, case management, client satisfaction, revenue growth and office profitability. He previously served as COO/Associate Partner of Strategic Innovations S.A. de C.V., where he provided operational guidance to design and execute holistic security solutions for the Mexican government and corporations inside of Mexico. “As interest has grown in Detroit and organizations continue to flock downtown, it made sense for us to expand our presence into the city in order to better serve our clients,” said Lawrence. “Having a Detroit office further expands our capabilities to react and scale up quicker in response to client needs in southeast Michigan—and throughout the broader Midwest as a whole.”

Pinkerton has 34 locations across the country, and an additional 25 locations worldwide—including Mexico, India, Germany, China and England.
