Job Summary:

The Investigator will support the Operations team by conducting investigations, organizing and analyzing evidence, and evaluating business processes and case projects.

Essential Functions:

  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance and excellence.
  2. Establish and maintain positive relationships with other Pinkerton Asia agents.
  3. Investigators to support China based investigations.
  4. Comfortable dealing in internal and external conflicts.
  5. Project management skills and process discipline.
  6. Conduct proactive and reactive investigations of counterfeit selling/manufacturing of parts in both domestic and foreign markets.
  7. Develop and coordinate a national and international network of investigators and prosecutors to address interstate and international counterfeit activities.
  8. Conduct proactive and reactive investigations of supplier unauthorized sales of parts in both domestic and foreign markets.
  9. Conduct Pre-Meetings with different Internal divisions.
  10. Purchase parts, issue C&D, conduct meetings with suppliers.
  11. Review & supervise Suppliers Disclosure.
  12. Reach Settlement Agreement between Supplier and Internal divisions.
  13. Conduct proactive and reactive investigations of diverted and parallel parts in both domestic and foreign markets.
  14. Conduct proactive and reactive investigations of trademark infringement.
  15. Supervise 3rd party covert investigations and resulting raids.
  16. Assist local Law enforcement as a subject matter expert.
  17. Assist local Law firms & Internal Company Division as a subject matter expert.
  18. Single point of contact with markets, foster relationships, establish case processing procedures for investigators in market.
  19. Coordinate case load and Interface with local council to ensure the proper filing and prosecution. Build trademark awareness of Company parts with internal & external audiences in various markets.
  20. Maintain local databases for all investigations. Create reports for internal meetings and high-level case recap for senior management.
  21. Conduct training and make presentations to various external organizations: conferences, associations, Customs, and other law enforcement agencies.
  22. Conduct Company employee training for and make presentations for corporate directive awareness & compliance.
  23. Build brand and trademark awareness and support in Company affiliates and various business units.
  24. Assist with development of special projects as necessary.
  25. Design investigative approaches and tactics for review by the supervisor.
  26. Work in case-specific investigative teams to conduct highly complex investigations.
  27. Perform investigative preparatory work through data analysis, document review, research, and determination of necessary activities including interviews, surveys, analyses, and data backups.
  28. Evaluate business processes and case projects in terms of their risk, correctness, economic feasibility, and quality.
  29. Prepare investigative reports for review by the manager and recommend further action steps through comprehensive presentations of investigative results.
  30. All other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Sociology, International Trade, Law, Political Science, Market Research, a similar field, or another qualification with a comparable skill set or experience level. At least two years of experience in foreign trade, market research, or investigations is preferred. For recent graduates with no previous experience, a three-six-month training program will be required. Fluency in English and either Mandarin, Cantonese, or any other Chinese Dialect is required.

Competencies:

  • Foreign trade, market research, and/or investigations, preferred.
  • Bi-lingual skills; Mandarin, Cantonese, or other Chinese dialect and English.
  • Knowledge of investigation techniques, preferred.
  • Able to organize and analyze evidence.
  • Able to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Motivated and initiative driven.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical planning, critical review, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to participate in administrative/law enforcement raids.
