We’re then able to provide customized solutions, providing continuity between strategy and activity. Our operations include the full spectrum of investigative services, including corporate investigations, enhanced due diligence, and litigation support. We offer incident to full time support.

When are corporate investigations used?

Corporate investigations are normally conducted for the following reasons:

1) To stay compliant

Organizations often have compliance programs or policies in place that mandate an investigation following red flag incidents. These can include a phone call to a corruption alert line, an episode of workplace violence, or reported allegations. Government regulations may also come into play depending on industry and location.

2) To uncover wrongdoing

An investigation is a smart place to start when maleficence is suspected. Many cases are started due to probable cause – maybe a suspicious email or an overheard conversation – however it’s okay to investigate based on a hunch. The key is to discover the full extent of the problem. Common crimes include embezzlement, data theft, espionage, tech scams and sabotage.

3) To audit existing processes

Risk management processes may already be in place – in that case, an investigation will help determine any weaknesses. An audit can also evaluate the efficacy of current processes, training programs and awareness programs, leading to a better allocation of resources.

4) To recover losses

In the case of reoccurring theft an investigation makes lots of sense. Internal theft happens in two ways: physical theft, common in retail and manufacturing, and financial theft, such as embezzlement of funds. Organizations looking to recoup losses can expect an ROI from an effective corporate investigation, as it will not only get to the root of the money loss, but also provide solutions to prevent further theft.

5) To determine the cause of disruptive incidents

Accidents and mishaps can occur regardless of whether there’s foul play. An investigation can determine who or what is causing a problem and why. Reasons for accidents include employee drug use, lack of proper procedures, failure to follow organizational policies and departmental oversight.

Surveillance is the process of monitoring people, places, things and activities to obtain information. This can be useful for employee monitoring, such as worker’s comp verification, or customer monitoring, such as retail theft.

For investigations, we use a combination of physical and video surveillance. Physical surveillance requires skill and patience. When and where physical surveillance is not possible, we may employ video surveillance. This often allows us to gather a larger amount of information, with added benefit of a permanent record.

It’s important to conduct surveillance in accordance with jurisdictional laws. With over 100 years of experience in surveillance, our solutions are difficult to detect, legally compliant, and reliable.

Digital surveillance monitors your organization’s online footprint, enabling you to conduct business online with confidence. We can help you identify stolen or counterfeit products, verify distributor product licenses and prices, and conduct business intelligence.

Our team works extensively with civil litigators and law enforcement officials to shut down illicit merchandise sales. We aim to mitigate the risk of doing business online with our tried and proven solutions.

Forensic accountants use tools to understand where money flows. An effective forensic investigation will help determine the source of financial fraud, and act as a foundation for future fraud prevention. According to a 2018 study by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) the average organization lost USD 2.75 million due to fraud. Financial fraud is often unearthed in payroll, expense reporting, contract bidding, and invoicing. These seemingly basic functions can act as vehicles for white collar crime.

We have helped organizations recover millions of dollars worldwide.

Investigative interviewing is a method of questioning, designed to separate truth from fiction. Interviews are the foundation of many investigations, regardless of whether they’re highly structured or a casual conversation. They’re often employed in cases of corporate theft, fraud, kickbacks, conflicts of interest, extortion and embezzlement.

Our team of professional interviewers act as true investigators. We strive to help you learn the truth fast, without sacrificing accuracy.

Our investigators also possess law enforcement training based on jurisdiction, including: FBI, DHS, State Police, County, Municipal and local PD, DEA, Secret Service. Many investigators are also Certified Forensic Interviewers (CFI).

An undercover investigation involves the surreptitious placement of a trained and skilled investigator for the purpose of gathering information that may be impossible to discover otherwise. It’s particularly helpful if processes such as interviewing, or surveillance were unable to identify the source of problems.

Situations where undercover work has helped include: theft, sexual harassment, kickback schemes, industrial espionage, substance abuse, workplace violations, fraud, and compliance issues.

Our undercover security agents are trained to catch nuances, build trust, and develop leads. Covert operatives can reveal more information than most security systems or CCTVs could ever hope to capture.
