Job Summary:

The Security Investigator will provide the Client with on-going comprehensive and complex functions including investigation of criminal activity, employee misconduct, and other security-related incidents. The Investigator will be responsible for case project plans, analysis, continuous monitoring, and reporting to Client contacts.

Essential Functions:

  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Ensure all investigation services are conducted in timely, professional and ethical manner with special attention to quality, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  3. Works with the client and designees to establish goals and objectives for continuous improvement of investigative programs.
  4. Establish investigative files for all new cases.
  5. Ensure compliance with all components of Client contract through appropriate measurements.
  6. Conduct investigations with little need of direct oversight or instruction from Client contacts.
  7. Prepare all submitted investigative reports to ensure accuracy, investigative sufficiency, and professional quality; edits and corrects, as necessary.
  8. Maintain and submit accurate time and expense records in accordance with company guidelines.
  9. Maintain a continued, positive relationship with the Client, through appropriate contact and the anticipation of service needs.
  10. Ensure that the appropriate management personnel are kept informed of all issues relating to the Client relationship.
  11. Participate in designated training sessions/seminars and reviews company training materials to maintain professional competencies and ensure high quality investigations.
  12. Maintain assigned equipment; maintains driver license, auto insurance, etc.
  13. All other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

A Bachelor's degree and five or more years of corporate investigations experience are required. Industry recognized certification is preferred (CPP, CFE, and/or CPI).


  • Able to interact effectively across all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Able to conduct timely, thorough, and professional investigations related to; employee misconduct, thefts of company assets, and threats of violence/workplace violence.
  • Proven problem resolution skills.
  • Able to work independently and with little to no supervision.
  • Able to write detailed, accurate, complex investigative and business correspondence and present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Strong client and results orientation.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge through continuous professional education and technical training.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; function as liaison between Pinkerton and the client.
  • Excellent presentation skills; communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to upper management, various staff, and the Client.
  • Self-starter, energetic, and logical thinker.
  • Interact effectively at all levels of the organization and across diverse backgrounds.
  • Responsible time management skills; prioritize and complete multiple assignments simultaneously while preserving the integrity of the investigation process.
