Job Summary:

The Fraud Investigator will conduct investigations in accordance with the client's instructions, regularly communicate investigative statuses, and ensure all deadlines and expectations are met or exceeded. This position can be located in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia.

Essential Functions:

  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Conduct quality investigations in accordance with budgetary requirements, agreed upon deadlines, and client expectations.
  3. Complete investigative reports that meet accuracy, investigative sufficiency, and professional quality standards;
    • Edit and correct reports, as necessary.
  4. Review reports of Associate Investigators, as assigned, for specific investigations.
  5. Maintain and submit accurate time and expense records in accordance with company guidelines.
  6. Communicate with management on a consistent and timely basis as to the status of each investigation.
  7. Participate in designated training sessions/seminars and review company training materials to maintain professional competencies and high quality investigative results.
  8. Maintain assigned equipment including driver license, auto insurance, and serviceable vehicle.
  9. Provide accurate and thorough reporting and analysis to internal business units such as human resources and external parties such as police services for employee breaches
  10. Evaluation and review of operational procedures within stores to proactively reduce shrinkage
  11. All other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

High School Certificate with at least two years of investigative and risk assessment experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Insurance claims/investigations experience, preferred.

  • Solid interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office.

  • Frequent sitting, standing and/or walking for long periods of time and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • Occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to adjust focus between close and distance vision.
  • Travel, as required.
