Access Control Specialist

The Access Control Specialist, assigned to a specific client, will monitor a specialized access control device. The Specialist will approve entry for cleared individuals, deescalate tense situations, and identify equipment malfunctions.This is a temporary, part-time position.

Essential Functions

The Essential Functions Include:
  1. Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  2. Monitor access control for all individuals entering the client's facilities.
  3. Ensure that no individual is permitted unless approved for entry.
    1. Notify responsible personnel in the event of a protocol breach with access control units.
  4. Identify and escalate equipment deficiencies/failures.
    1. Work with EHS or other responsible individual in the event of equipment malfunction.
  5. Deescalate tense situations or individuals that may arise.
  6. All other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Hiring Standards


Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process including drug testing and background investigation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., email, cell phone).
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.

Education/Experience


High School Diploma or GED with one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

Working Conditions

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, drug testing, and/or behavioral selection survey.

  • Regular computer usage.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or customers.
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment.
  • Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel, as required.
